AEO Consulting

Gain speed and credibility at customs with pre-assessment, gap analysis and application preparation for Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status.

Overview

Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status — known in Türkiye as YYS — is a trust status granted to companies that have demonstrated customs compliance, financial solvency and security standards. It brings benefits such as fewer checks, simplified procedures and priority treatment, but requires lasting compliance and record-keeping discipline within the company. As customs brokers, we provide AEO consulting from our head office in Kayseri and our branch and liaison offices.

AEO criteria

The application assesses your record of compliance with customs and tax legislation, the traceability of commercial and transport records, financial solvency, and supply chain security standards. After the application, the administration examines the processes you have described on site to verify that the criteria are actually met.

A successful application is therefore much more than filling in a form. You need documented procedures and clearly defined roles and responsibilities — and these must genuinely be applied in day-to-day operations.

How we work

First, we analyze your current position against the AEO criteria and report on gaps and priority actions. We then support you with the self-assessment and application file and with drafting procedures.

We prepare for the on-site audit together, and once you have obtained the status, we provide consulting support on any questions about continuing to meet the criteria.

Key benefits of the status

Under the conditions set out in the legislation, AEO holders can benefit from fewer physical and document checks, access to simplified procedures such as on-site clearance, easier guarantee arrangements and priority treatment. The status also helps you gain recognition as a trusted business partner in the international supply chain.

Frequently asked questions

Which companies are eligible to apply for AEO status?

Many businesses in the supply chain can apply — notably manufacturers, exporters, importers, carriers and warehouse operators established in Türkiye and engaged in customs-related activities. Eligibility depends on whether the company meets the criteria set out in the legislation.

How long does the AEO process take?

It depends on the company’s level of preparation, the maturity of its procedures and the administration’s audit schedule. Planning the preparation phase well helps the application conclude faster and more smoothly.

What should we watch out for after obtaining the status?

AEO status requires ongoing compliance. You must continue to meet the criteria, notify the administration of significant changes and carry out regular internal controls; otherwise, the status may be suspended or revoked.
